Pathways Into Our Practice
We know that people have different levels of comfort with dental care and also that optimal dental health may not always be a top priority. Some of our patients come to us after years of no dental care wanting a complete evaluation seeking renewed dental health, others come within a few months of their last cleaning and others seek us out to relieve pain.
- You may become a new or re-established patient in our practice one of four ways:
Schedule an appointment for a comprehensive evaluation of your oral condition with our doctor. A comprehensive evaluation includes spending time getting to know you, discussing your past dental experiences, your present dental concerns, and any goals you have such as straighter or whiter teeth. You will have an opportunity to ask questions throughout the appointment. Comprehensive evaluation appointments usually last around 2 hours.
We will update your x-rays, perform a gum health and jaw joint evaluation, as well as an oral cancer screening. We will also evaluate and discuss the current condition of your teeth, utilizing intraoral cameras so you can see what we see!
After your complete evaluation, we will work together on a plan to move forward toward YOUR dental health goals.
As long as we have your permission to tell you and show you what we see, you have our permission to move forward (or not) with the plan that makes the most sense to you. - Schedule an appointment for a limited evaluation, focusing on a specific oral problem that is causing you pain, discomfort, or is worrying you. For painful toothaches, same-day emergency treatment is available during office hours even for new patients. After you become an established patient, you will always have a way to contact us even in an emergency that occurs outside of normal office hours.
If you have a broken tooth or have lost a filling or crown and you just want that tooth evaluated before you are seen for a comprehensive evaluation, that works too! - If getting your teeth cleaned is your top priority, you may reserve time with our hygienist for updating x-rays, evaluating your gum health, and providing the appropriate type of cleaning. During this 60-90 minute appointment, our hygienist can update your x-rays, evaluate your gum health, and work with the doctor to decide what kind of cleaning is best for you. You will get to meet the doctor and have a limited examination which focuses on ruling out any major immediate concerns. You can then follow up with a comprehensive evaluation with the doctor at a later appointment.
- Last, but not least, if you have had trouble finding a dental home that feels like the right fit for you and your family, or if you have dental fears and you’re quite ready to commit to an appointment, schedule a meet and greet! Our meet and greet appointment is 20-30 minutes of time during which you can tour our office with a team member and meet our doctor. During this time, we will answer any questions you may have about our office.
